Artist Statement

Corinne Holloway is a contemporary artist whose aesthetic is drastically shaped by growing up in the Texas panhandle. You can see the influence of the wild landscape's sharp lines mixed with organic shapes and distinct (yet minimal) color in much of her work.

Using this aesthetic, Corinne explores metaphysical concepts ranging from the intrinsic value of the individual to the problem of pain. Often she juxtaposes the beautiful with the grotesque and the sorrowful with the joyful in her pieces in order to show the truth of our world in both its reflective glory and fallen mess.

Corinne Holloway received her B.F.A. in Studio Art from West Texas A&M University and has lived and worked in Canyon, TX; Philadelphia, PA; and San Antonio, TX. She currently lives and works in Manassas, VA.
